Rajasthan known as the royal state of India is situated in the northern part of India and covers almost 342,239 square kilometres or 10.4 percent of the total geographical area of India. Its area makes it the largest state of India and is numbered as seventh regarding the population. It is located in the northwestern part of Indian subcontinent.
It is bounded by the states of Punjab and haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Madhya pradesh. And the state joint capital of Rajasthan is Jaipur also known as the pink city. Rajasthan is generally known as the land of kingdoms as before was known as rajputanas as it was a kingdom for many Rajputs. RIt came into existence in its present form on November 1, 1956. A large number of population comprises of Rajputs meaning the son of kings. It is mostly covered with sand and desert and comprises of the largest desert called The Thar Desert, also known as Rajasthan Desert or Great Indian Desert.
